My crazy is still sane.

Yesterday, the papers carried this shocker :

On days like these, I realize my crazy is still sane.

And then I recalled there are more of such shockers on the internet. These are some of my favourite ones.

Next time you go for a paint ball session, wear this. You can carry all your artillery in there! And everyone’s going to be so astonished that in all likelihood they’ll forget to attack you.

Warning : You may get your fifteen seconds of fame on the internet, in a not good way.

I hate my legs. They’re too thin. Or too fat. Or too straight. Or too crooked. I’ll let the entire world know how much I hate my legs. Whoever could have come up with these?

I admired her character in Las Vegas. Remember Sam and her sharks? I wonder if she had two stylists. One must have insisted on a gown, the other on pants. And another must have combined both options. Oh that makes it three stylists! Damn you, maths!

Most girls seem to have stuff spilling out of their bags. Not every girl has Hermione’s luck (Click here for reference). Chanel (I did not look up the brand logo on Google. Or may be I did. Shh!) here tried to do some magic! Voila. That’s your drunk godmother’s work, Cinderella.

Christmas Trees in orange. For wear. Free. (Because no one else must have bought it.)

The fashion designer hates this model! Karma will get back at you some day, designer!

Disclaimer : None of these brilliant ideas are mine. Note the sarcasm.

How do I convince Mother that my 23 year old self can have usable shelf decor ideas?

Urgent help needed! Mothers preferred.

So I began putting my shelf decor ideas to Mother the way I actually pitch my ideas to my boss. Small talk first and then when I have judged his mood and inclination to discuss ideas, I slowly, very slowly, push the idea towards him. Obviously, I chip in the ideas like they were always his and that time had been a constraint for him to implement the ideas. And that he was the one who’d inspired me to actually come up with them. It works out fine for me mostly. I tried the same with Mother. It turns out that the small talk I do is extremely boring. She shooed me away. I never reached the second stage.

After a while I decided to be direct and straightforward so I went up to her and said, “It’s my room. It’s my shelf. I want it my way.” The look she gave me was enough to shut me up. I slinked away.

As I write this, I have decided to present my decor ideas to her without throwing my weight around. As if that really mattered much. But what should I say to her? How do I get her to look at my shelf decor ideas without her rejecting them out rightly? How do I convince my Mother that her daughter who otherwise flops around the house, cracks the weirdest of jokes at inopportune moments, cares about her blog like it’s her baby, finds comedy shows boring and suspense thrillers funny has usable decor ideas! Even if they’re as random as this :

ideas-for-bookselves magnetika-soggiorno Interesting-Shelf-Design-in-Random-like-Cells-Position

Which they are not. Absolutely not this random. Psst. Aren’t they good though?

Let’s not divert!

Help please. While I go to put on the protective gear, please get your ammunition ready! We need to fire them fast. Or are we going for a truce?

Graciously Yours!

P.S. : Mother, if you are reading this, you’ve obviously read whatever I wrote above. Before you come looking for me, I only want to say :

All characters appearing in this work are fictitious. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental.

Same goes for you, boss!

Six Word Story – Hemingway Challenge.

The Hemingway Challenge, named after the poet Ernest Hemingway, is a celebration of his genius when it came to words. It asks for the writer to convey a story in six words and not more, not less.

The best six word story, I have come across till date, courtesy him, is “For sale : baby shoes, never worn”.

Here’s my first, and hopefully not last, shot at the challenge :

World’s moonlit night, moonless to him.

Graciously Yours!

P.S. : Julia from ‘Life Matters’ is also doing the #sixwordstory challenge. Here’s my favourite from her collection.

A dream turning real.

On special request by Izza from the ‘A touch of my saint’, the previous post has been now re-written with a completely different end.

Glistening smile in her eyes,

She felt her beau cupping her face,

Caressing her hair and her cheek,

His finger lingering at her lips.

With the soft touch of his lips on hers,

Cheers erupted and flowers fell upon them,

The bride was kissed,

Before the priest could even say so.

Quote Challenge – Day 1.

This is the second quote challenge I have been nominated for. Thank you Savio for this opportunity! You save me the burden of having to think of new post topics in this busy month!

To have one’s heart broken may seem like the worst thing that could have happened. But you know what? It happens to everyone. And most of us get out of it. We let go. We learn to love ourselves.
I’ll focus this challenge on quotes which will make you embrace yourself again (hearts broken or not)!

Awards.

This post was really long due!

Thank you, Prateek, for getting me out of my slumber! And nominating me for the Versatile Blogger award! He’s a recent addition to our WordPress family but his posts are very mature for an amateur. He’s going to bowl you over with his words and charm. Go check out his blog, after you’ve read mine 😉

Presenting 7 facts about me with a twist (With a bonus.)!

1.

The day I came across this picture I realized how true it is. And yes, I have been blessed with a few of that kind! That also probably explains the lack of selfies on my phone with them!

2.

Only comment on this, if you agree. Those who disagree, be tolerant enough to ignore. God would like it. (And so would I.)

3.

You said it once. I didn’t get you. You said it twice. Still don’t get you. Thrice? *Fake laugh* . I can’t ask you for the fourth time, come on!

4.

Exactly my point! And anyway, the Bollywood songs of my parents’ generations are much better than the ‘hookah bar’, ‘vodka’ and ‘baby doll’ songs being churned out by our generation. Occasionally gyrating to them is understandable. Chanting them like an anthem? Ridiculous!

5.

They may start noticing it now. Ouch!

6.

I am afraid if I don’t I will forget my grammar. And English spellings. My worst nightmare, probably! And also because I can’t stand wrong grammar. It pops out at me!

7.

Don’t tell me you have never done this? Come on. At least once? At that night stay? Or when you were fooling around with your cousins? Or teaching your younger sibling nonsense? Still no? Try it tonight then!

8. Bonus point!

I’ll let the picture speak for itself!
