Liebster Award – awesome questions!

Without offending anyone who has in the recent past nominated me for awards which have not been acknowledged yet, I only accepted this award because the questions that the lady running coffeegrounded’s blog asked are crazy awesome!

Check them out :

  • If you could, would you travel into space?

I most certainly would! Though I am not sure how much help I would be to the ISS people or the ISRO, NASA, ESA scientists!

  • How old were you when you learned to tie your shoes?

Mother says I was three. I believe her.

  • Snow skiing, or horseback riding?

I recently saw some videos which showed what you should do when stuck in an avalanche while snow skiing. The death statistics are alarmingly high. I’d choose horseback riding.

  • Favorite book of all time?

Little Women. Looking for Alaska. Many Lives, Many Masters. And the Harry Potter series. Was I supposed to choose just one book?

  • Name your favorite hobby?

Writing! Hands down winner.

  • If money wasn’t a factor, what would you purchase immediately?

A horse. Why? I just chose to go horse back riding! Duh.

  • Who’s the better cook, you or your significant other?

Well, as of now, I can only hope that my significant other turns out to be a better cook than me!

  • Which do you prefer:  t.v. news broadcast, Internet news, hardcopy newspaper?

The newspaper in hand. Anytime.

  • Would you abolish Daylight Savings time (null to folks in Arizona and Hawaii)?

Like Hawaii and Arizona, India also doesn’t use Daylight Savings time. And you can’t abolish something which doesn’t exist, so no, I wouldn’t.

  • Do you hoard pennies, or leave them in the tray on the counter?

I hoard them until I have more than I can handle! Then, I want to just lose them somewhere!

  • Name your favorite board game.

Snakes and Ladder! Unpredictable, light and such climatic finishes! And you don’t need skills to play that one either. Just roll the die and enjoy the hilarious situations you land up in.

I nominate anyone who finds my questions amusing enough to be answered.

Here they are :

  1. If you could choose one superpower, what would it be and why?
  2. Which is better – Harry Potter the book or Harry Potter the film? If you haven’t experienced either, I am so disappointed!
  3. Which was the last picture you took with your phone?
  4. What’s the colour of your toothbrush?
  5. If you could be a flower, which one would you be?
  6. Polar bear or Penguin?
  7. You just won a free ticket to anywhere on Earth. Where would you go?
  8. Koala bear or Panda?
  9. If you could marry a fictional character, who would it be and why?
  10. What question do you hate to answer?
  11. What’s the answer to answer 10?

Graciously Yours!

    1. I almost always lose Ludo! Sore memories. Ouch. It’s so long and then the strategies you have to make in order to make it home safely! So yeah Snakes and Ladder over Ludo! 😉

      1. Oh, yes. Ludo was war. I don’t know how many Ludo boards got torn between my brother and I.
I was a sore loser. Whenever I lost to my brother in Ludo, I play the “you are adopted” card 😀

  3. Loved those questions you answered 😛
I’ll answer the questions you’ve asked here
    1. Invisibility! Imagine how I could do so much with that
    2. Fortunately I’ve experienced both and I prefer the books – book nerd hehe
    3. The last picture is of a sunset 😛 I’m not even joking!
    4. Purple
    5. I don’t know really… I love those little tiny ones but I don’t know the name unfortunately 😦
    6. Penguin 😛 funny you should ask that since everyone says I would walk like a penguin when I was little
    7. That’s tough. Is there an around the world ticket? 😛
    8. Koalas! I love the cuddly things
    9. I’ve always loved Mr. Darcy 😀 if you can’t fathom why, read the book!
    10. I dunno really. Never been asked anything that I find annoying. Maybe when someone says “are you feeling okay? ”
    11. Well it depends on how I’m feeling 😛
    There.

    1. Thank you! Oh exciting times! You have great answers 🙂

      Book nerd here too!
Sunsets are so alluring and colourful!
      I love the penguin walk.
And of course I know Mr. Darcy! Nice choice 😉 I personally would have gone for Laurie Lawrence (Little Women) though now that I think about it.

      Thanks for answering 😀

  5. Here are the answers:

    1. If you could choose one superpower, what would it be and why?
That thing that Mystique does. I would become Narendra Modi and say “Bhaiyon, le lo achche din” while I board the flight to whatever country I’ll help build “diplomatic relations” with.

    2. Which is better – Harry Potter the book or Harry Potter the film? If you haven’t experienced either, I am so disappointed!
Books, no contest. The movies are meh.

    3. Which was the last picture you took with your phone?
The hotel room where I stayed when I was in Delhi recently. (I had to check it to confirm)

    4. What’s the colour of your toothbrush?
Too many colours there. Oral B one. White, blue, dark blue, red, magenta (I don’t actually know what magenta looks like).

    5. If you could be a flower, which one would you be?
Why would I want to be a flower? Flowers have short lives. I want to live.

“Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
    Old Time is still a-flying;
And this same flower that smiles today
    Tomorrow will be dying”

But if you want to know, I like lotuses. They rise above the filth and spread joy. That would be something I can live with.

    6. Polar bear or Penguin?
Penguin. He is a master criminal with a genius level intellect.

    7. You just won a free ticket to anywhere on Earth. Where would you go?
    Home.

    8. Koala bear or Panda?
    Panda! The Dragon Warrior!

    9. If you could marry a fictional character, who would it be and why?
This is difficult. I have a thing for Fleur Delacour like I mentioned. But Elizabeth Bennet’s intelligence is so attractive. However, I think I’ll settle for Agnes Wickfield. She is wise, charming, and is capable of unconditional love. She is someone in front of whom you can let yourself be vulnerable.
Honourable mention: Jean “Scout” Louise from Go Set a Watchman (the grown up Scout from To Kill a Mockingbird). That is a woman who stands up for her principles.

    10. What question do you hate to answer?
Can you teach my kid Chemistry?

    11. What’s the answer to answer 10?
    I’ve already done that. 😛

    1. You know that magenta exists is more than enough 😉
“Penguin. He is a master criminal with a genius level intellect.” What am I missing here?
I’d completely forgotten about Agnes! And yes. Intelligence is indeed attractive. 🙂

  6. Hi Sweets! Thanks so much for playing along. Now I want to play along on your awesome questions. Here goes.

    1. If I could choose a superpower, I’d like to befriend a homeless person and clothe, feed and tutor them through college and into a productive career.

    2. Shamefully, I must admit that I have only read one Harry Potter book, and have seen only a couple of the movies. Let me choose reading.

    3. Last picture taken with my phone? My two daughter’s high school. Both of the girls live a couple thousand miles apart. I thought they would enjoy the memory…and they did! 🙂

    4. Toothbrush color? White and orange

    5. What flower would I be? A pink carnation, soft pink. (Carnations are my VERY favorite flower. Their scent is amazing!)

    6. Polar bear or Penguin? You won’t believe this, but I almost posed the exact question on my award!!! My answer? I couldn’t decide and therefore am unable to answer.

    7. Free ticket to anywhere in the world? In to space, so that I could look down upon the splendor of earth and outward to the infinity that lay beyond.

    8. Koala or Panda? Okay, I’m hopeless. I love the animal kingdom and they are equally adorable.

    9. Fictional character marriage? Jethro Gibbs from the t.v. series, N.C.I.S.
He is confident in his team of investigators, enjoys an engaging hobby of building, by hand, a boat in the basement of his home. (He’ll have to demolish his home once it is completed, but that is not a concern to him.) He’s serious minded, dedicated to his naval intelligence work. Complex and bordering on obsessive, the man is of impeccable character.

    10. What question do I hate to answer? Why don’t you do Facebook?

    11. I come from a very dysfunctional family. I love them dearly, but I am constantly bombarded with concerns with their drama. (I hold my hands up in the air and say these words, “This is why I don’t Facebook!” I then send them along the way, giving them no fodder.) I absolutely despise drama. Life is difficult enough, why add mayhem?

    ☕️❤️

    1. Such great answers! Thank you for playing along 😀 And I think you’re talking about the same picture that you’d put up in an earlier blog post?
Facebook is indeed too much drama! Unnecessary often. :/
