She masquerades an inner beauty,
Afraid to show her true skin,
The glaze of pious may bedazzle others,
And they may brand her to be sinfully evil.

He masquerades an inner sensitiveness,
Empathy and concern lie just beneath,
But the world around tells him to man up,
To blend in he treats everyone rough and tough.

Graciously Yours!

  1. The first one was lovely and expressive
    And relatable too.
And second one dwells on a sad truth. I think its totally wrong to tell someone to hold up emotions just because he’s a ‘man’
Keep up the great work! G’day 🙂

    1. Hey Hargun!
Well, whether we like it or not, it is the truth. We want people to be how we see them to be and not accept them as they are.
      Thank you so much! 🙂
I’ll soon be back on WP regularly!

      1. Aww! That’s the best thing I read today (and considering I am reading all day for my exams, that’s a lot of reading!). Thank you so much. Your appreciation means a hell lot ❤

      2. Just a heads up : Some of the stuff written is so fascinating but there’s the other kind of writing too which makes the fascinating stuff boring! Please don’t write the latter 😛

      3. That’s because you’re really cool! I would have come up with some other word instead of cool, but frankly this word (it’s a first, probably) encompasses all I want to convey :p

  2. I am loving your new style of writing. In the last post, you just 1 word and the meaning of both the stanzas differed and similarly here also you used many common words and still were able to depict our inner desires and what we show others. Love this 🙂

Thank you so much. I’ll let you in on a little secret : even I loved this writing style and I hope I can write more of this sort 🙂

  3. *Stands up and claps* Each line you wrote here was so complete in itself! That is really rare to see! The choice of words and the way you played with them made your just so beautiful thinking inked so exquisitely! A perfect post in all respects this is 🙂

    1. Only you can do this with your words! You make me feel so happy and proud that I put together my words the way I do. I love your responses to my posts! Thank you so very much ❤

      1. Well true …but I guess situation demands at times…nevertheless… This force are mostly anthropogenic.. Which is the sad part I guess..

  4. Loved it for the soul it reflects not through the societal mirrors or the porosity of ones own materialistic self forced by the world – but through the core of ones own conscience !

    Happy Blogging !!

    1. It takes a lot to peel off the mask and accept what lies beneath. It’s never easy, masking and then unmasking yourself.
But if unmasking can lead to meeting such beautiful people, then I am glad I did it. 🙂
